While many of your defense recommendations make a lot of sense, you might, on the theme of thrift (and that oh so championed waste, fraud and abuse conservative crusade), have also emphasized accountability—chiefly, taking the steps necessary for the defense department to pass an f’ing audit. Then we’d likely save enough money to throw in a fourth virtue that conservatives continuously laud but almost never fund in any meaningful way and often defund—that would be family. And by that I mean restoring the child tax credit and making it permanent, passing a federal sick/parental leave policy and offering universal childcare, all of which would likely lead to improved public health and education outcomes and greater economic productivity (and growth!) in the long run.
