Policy also needs to do what they’re claiming it does, and they need to stop marketing poverty plans as working-class plans when the working-class doesn’t qualify for most of the subsidies unless they’re single mothers, a demographic that already loved voting Democrat.
“They cut their taxes and your healthcare” is laughable because it isn’t making an argument to the working class. It’s making an argument to the subsidized class of government dependents.
Another thing is campaigning on accountability in government spending. What results are all these expensive programs and NGOs, that provide so many well-compensated jobs for minority women and college degreed white women, accomplishing for the voters the Democrats are trying to win back?
Stop fighting program audits and efficiency efforts for government programs.
Rich kids don’t belong in what should be the labor party. The professionalist takeover of the Democratic machine means working people are being taxed without representation.
But I thought socialists are for the Working Them and I’ve never met a socialist who isn’t a trust-fund baby. What will win is more socialism, real working men like Mamdani and working women like Katie Wilson showing us how government is really done.
Democrats are already appealing more and more to the working class who were betrayed by trump. Just undoing the big beautiful bill and providing healthcare and childcare with go very far! 😎
Of course the progressive Democrats are the establishment now, one can get in serious trouble in any institution for disagreeing with any plank of the party line, especially the most ludicrous. The apparatchiks' condescention is insufferable, too, especially while pretending to be the oppressed even as they exclude anyone of merit. But the privileged in the Party aren't the only ones that are generally disliked by those who are shut out.
Is there a single likeable group among the coalition of the fringes? Some of the individuals are tolerable, even likable, but in general these are all groups who will tell you that there are negative stereotypes about them. And the accuracy of stereotypes is one of the most replicated findings in psychology and sociology, fields of science scarcely dominated by the Right. The Left **loves** ¡Science!, (except when it contradicts what they want to believe). At least that's the stereotype.
The fact that Democrats have any chance of winning the majority of anything given their platform and behavior is a testament to the effectiveness of modern psych ops advertising and evidence that we have a lot of idiots that can vote.
Turning political disagreements into issues of good and evil has not done the country or the Democratic Party any favors. Also turning President Trump into a uniquely sinister and corrupt villain instead of a politician who was elected twice.
The Democrats aren’t right either. But hey, nothing says “relatable” like progressive Ezra Klein championing massacre-fan Mahmoud Khalil, a foreign student (and a very old one, oddly) behind rioting for Hamas on an 90K/year elite university that included replacing American flags with Palestinian ones.
What the Democratic Party needs is a lot more progressives taking over the campaigns and then administrations of moderate Democrats. That works out well.
Democrats are not condescending. They are hateful. The don’t condescend to the working class or rural people, or gun owners, they hate those people’s guts and want them either dead or overwhelmed by immigrants who are seen as more agreeable. That is the truth. The more people like you lie about it to yourselves, the longer it will be before the Democrats face up to and solve their problems.
Professionals are Democrats because it allows them to pretend that they are the common man or woman, that they are victims, and it absolves them of their self-induced guilt of having risen into professional or elite circles. Also: being socially liberal allows them to be the nihilist hedonists that they are. Working people are instinctively conservative on social issues. No party of the working class is legitimate without a healthy relationship to religion and specifically, the Christian religion.
Democrats used to talk about universal healthcare during elections, only to deliver the most obnoxious forms of DEI when in office. Now they don't even talk about universal healthcare. It's not a liability gap so much as a failure to deliver gap. The Dems have chosen their donors over their putative base.
This approach argues for cosmetic surgery when the Democratic party needs a heart transplant. No amount of communicating better to ordinary, working class Americans can compensate for a party platform that is written by lobbyists to benefit the oligarchs and the professional political class. The Democratic Party will continue to face plant in every election until it decides to tax the rich and break up corporate monopolies.
Great stuff, and I say this as a never voted D, except some local elections, conservative. There needs to be a set of rowers on each side of the boat to get us where we’re going.

100%. Rich kids cosplay and strut around pretending that they've struggled. Being a Democrat to the rich is nothing more than an affectation.
But I thought socialists are for the Working Them and I’ve never met a socialist who isn’t a trust-fund baby. What will win is more socialism, real working men like Mamdani and working women like Katie Wilson showing us how government is really done.
Exactly. Look at Mamdani’s hands, the only tool he’s probably ever held in his life is Epstein’s.
Name one city run by democrats where you want to live. I don't know how they keep getting elected
In other words, promise the White working class policies on which the Party will not deliver and deliver for trannies and HR.
Democrats are already appealing more and more to the working class who were betrayed by trump. Just undoing the big beautiful bill and providing healthcare and childcare with go very far! 😎
False. Democrats are polling as bad as trump is. Frustration with Trump doesn't materialize as democrat votes.
You literally missed the entire point of this article. 👍

LoL who said they wanted to win.

Dems think that people voted for Trump so now that he looks terrible it's time for a Dem.
Many people were voting against Dems more than voting for Trump.
